What is a Chemex?

The Chemex is a one piece, hourglass shaped brewing device for a pour over that was invented in 1941 by Dr. Peter Schlumbohm. The initial goal was to brew coffee without imparting any additional flavors into the coffee. Some Chemexes have a glass handle or a wooden collar for holding and pouring.
